I liked this one. I'd been musing over the word "generosity" this week, actually, but I didn't come up with much. "Generosity of speech" or words... cool.

If you've been able to be open with each other and truthful, there is no reason why you can't approach him/her in the same vein. To let him/her know how you feel, what you've observed (as far as short, terse responses or not hearing from him/her) and that you do believe something is not as it used to be. But above all......leave this relationship in God's hands. Pray for your friend. Ask God for wisdom. When you've done all that you can do........continue to trust God and to love your friend.

I think it was when I got to the part in the pacemaker story where I was all alone Sunday night/Monday morning. I asked if they had ever felt alone and how did they handle it. Things got quiet in a good sense, any spurious talking (kids cracking comments to one another, etc) was stopped at that point.

I know what you mean when you get to talking to a new group and it just feels "cold"...

What do you think changed the atmosphere (other than God, obviously)?

I too would love to read about what you are learning about being a pastor/leadership/ministry, etc.

I also enjoy the updates on what you've been doing, the Sunday summaries, and the personal reflections.

Oh - I almost forgot - all of life is sacred so don't stay away from anything. Jesus is everywhere. Our recognition of Him should follow suit.

How about some short little discipleship/teaching-type things. Give some specifics about what God's is showing you in the Scriptures. What are your latest "Ah Ha!" moments?

Or some leadership insights. What are you learning about leadership in your new role as a Pastor?

Dreams? Vision? Passions?

Another good thing for blogging pastors that I've seen is the expand upon the sermon - Maybe write up some discussion questions or reflective questions to meditate on which are based around the sermon/message. Use the blog to "go deeper" with the message.

Or go the other way - If you wrote before you preached, you could even get some writer feedback that could be useful in preaching a message. Using the blog to help research current thoughts/opinions from your specific community of followers.

OK - I'll shut up now. I should probably take some of my own advise here. I get stuck and wonder what to write a lot myself. Maybe the same things I would like to read about from you are the same things my readers would be interested in???

Ask him (I'm assuming it's a him) what happened. Tell him how much he means to you, and how much you value his friendship. It's okay to be needy, just let him know your need. Maybe I'm just young and naive, but I fight for my friends. I have been through a similar situation and I fought to get that friend back.
Also, understand that he needs you. God put in us a need for community and relationships. Ya'll need each other and that's okay, you just have to make it known.

I just prayed for you, so everything should be all better now. ;)
